Ms Monika Manaktaala VP Primary school was lucky to be a part of a camp at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Nainital from May 17th to May 23rd, conducted by the Delhi Ashram. The aim of the camp was:
  • To promote spiritual progress in its absolute sense for everyone, without any discrimination based on caste, creed, or gender.

  • To spread the evolutionary vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother concerning the establishment of a Life Divine in a divine body in all fields of life.

  • To disseminate and help spread the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

  • To preserve, protect, and publish the teachings of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother, and the eminent sadhaks of Integral Yoga.

The ashram in Nainital was a place full of serenity, peace, and beauty, away from city life. Participants were allotted rooms with all the basic amenities. The camp began on the 17th with members introducing themselves to the group and the guide, the respected Dr. Alok, who has been associated with the ashram since his college days. The schedule was discussed with the group by Mr. Amit, who oversaw organizing the activities.

Dr. Alok’s talk sessions covered a variety of aspects, ranging from birth, death, and karmic connections to extracts from the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and more. Mornings were spent in yoga sessions, while the evenings included meditation, nature walks, and Q&A sessions. It was a rejuvenating experience which emphasized the benefits of simple living and that one doesn’t need much to be happy.
