“Shadow Puppetry” & AI Engages Students in the Computer Class

The Students of Grade 5D explored Shadow Art, a web browser-based game that allowed them to experience AI and shadow puppetry in a playful way. They used their hands to form one of twelve zodiac animals from the lunar cycle in front of the camera, trying to match their hand to the diagram on the screen. The “shadow” of their hands on the screen then transformed into a shadow puppet animal.

The game was interactive and challenging as students had only twenty seconds to form each animal to complete the full lunar cycle as fast as possible. They really enjoyed it as it was the first Computer class today. They developed their hand-eye coordination skills, timing, and problem-solving abilities.
Shadow Art is an excellent educational tool that teachers can use to introduce AI and shadow puppetry to their students in a fun and engaging way.
