SETH ANANDRAM JAIPURIA SCHOOL LUCKNOW IS NOW A SAT TEST CENTER

The “Scholastic Assessment Test” or SAT is a standardized test used for admission to undergraduate courses at various international universities and colleges.(primarily U.S. Canada, Japan, Australia, Singapore, UAE & Malaysia) Prestigious private Indian Universities that are a part of the India Higher Education Global Alliance initiative of the College Board also accept SAT scores for admission. (Ashoka, Krea, Plaksha, Chitkara, Shiv Nadar, Manipal, Flame, Azim Premji, UPES, etc)

It is designed to assess a student’s readiness for higher education & provides colleges with a common data point that can be used to compare all applicants. The SAT comprises three sections to test skills in reading comprehension, writing and grammar, and math. Each of the sections includes material from several different subjects. The five general subject areas include English, history, languages, mathematics, and science. Each section is scored on a scale of 200-800 points with a maximum total score of 1600.

The SAT plays a significant role in the college admission process, though its weight in the overall evaluation of one applicant can vary from one Institution to another. Many colleges consider a student’s SAT scores as one of the several factors in the admission decision along with grades, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities & personal essays.

While some colleges have become test-optional, meaning they do not require SAT scores for admission, most Institutions still consider them. A strong SAT score can enhance a student’s chances of being accepted into competitive programs or receiving merit-based scholarships.
