In the serene embrace of Aurobindo Ashram, fifteen students from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow, accompanied by two teachers, embarked on a profound journey. Guided by the ashram’s strict principles, they learned practical skills—washing clothes, handling utensils—and embraced the discipline of communal living.

Day 1 (25-06-24): After arriving in the afternoon, we shared a communal lunch. Evening snacks and an orientation session set the tone. A short 3-4 km trek immersed us in the scenic beauty. Returning, we meditated, sang prayers, and dined together. Some played, others explored. By bedtime, our rooms were quiet.

Day 2 (26-06-24): Morning exercises led to “Shramdaan”—carrying logs for the kitchen fire. Breakfast fueled an adventurous trek and rock climbing in narrow caves. Team games followed, and after lunch, we trekked back to Nainital Town.

Day 3 (27-06-24): Despite heavy rain, students prepared evening high tea—learning kitchen skills and teamwork. Then, we trekked to Tiffin Top, where the Himalayan range unfolded before us.

Day 4 (28-06-24): A visit to the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) enriched us. We watched an astronomy documentary and engaged with Mr. Virendra Yadav, a science communicator. Telescopes, eclipses, and camera lenses fascinated us.

Day 5 (29-06-24): A challenging 13 km trek from Shivir to Naina Peak rewarded us with stunning vistas. Rappelling and river crossing followed—a test of courage and teamwork.

Day 6 (30-06-24): Our final day included visits to Kainchi Dham, Ramgadh, Madhubani Shivir, and Mukteshwar Dham. Back at the Ashram, we reflected on our transformative journey.

The trip to Aurobindo Ashram provided the students with valuable life skills, team-building experiences, and exposure to both natural beauty and scientific knowledge, making it an unforgettable and enriching experience for all.
