We are more than delighted to announce that our Primary students from grade 1- 5 got a golden opportunity to test their proficiency in ‘Vocab- O-Pedia’- A National Level Event, which was organised by Jayshree Periwal School, where more than 76 schools participated. It was an online event which ranforone and a half months.The event was divided in two groups: Group 1 : Grade 1st and 2nd and Group 2 : Grade 3rd to 5th.
It was a cut throat competition spread across 5 Preliminary Quizzes and a Rapid-Fire Finale in categories like ‘Collective Nouns’, Occupational Names’, Genders’, ‘Idioms and Phrases’, ‘Homophones’, ‘Similes’, ‘Proverbs’, ‘One Word Substitution’ and ‘Oxymorons’. Preliminary was an individual competition. 6 students per class (30 students per school for each preliminary round)participated and then TOP 16 scorers from each grade across all participating schools made it to the finals.These finalists further competed against each other for the winner’s spot.The Final RAPID-FIRE ROUND and was conducted LIVE on Google meet platform between 20st to 24th February, 2023.The position for the overall school winners was based on the basis of cumulative of all individual scores. The competition commenced on 16th January, 2023 with a bang as we managed to be among the top 20 schools and we maintained our position till the last Rapid-Fire Round which was held on 24th February, 2023. Ayati Srivastava and Samarth Singh of Grade 2 were selected for the Final Rapid-fire Round and it feels pride to announce that Ayati Srivastava brought the laurels to our schools as she is the First runner up in Finale Rapid-fire, Grade 2. We also feel elated to share another big achievement by Group 1 as their hard work really paid off and among 76 schools, our school bagged the position of 1st Runner up. Big Congratulations to SAJS Family and to these wonder kids.
Group 1 (Grade 1 and Grade 2) was mentored by Ms. Tanya Bhardwaj. Group 2 ( Grade 3- Grade 5) was mentored by Ms. Vartika Nath.
