The assembly began by defining minimalism and the audience highlighted the importance of decluttering and organizing our physical spaces. Emphasizing quality over quantity, students were encouraged to keep only items that serve a purpose or hold sentimental value.
Minimalism’s connection to environmental sustainability was explored. Students learned how adopting a minimalist approach can contribute to reducing waste, promoting recycling, and curbing excessive consumption.
Principal ma’am highlighted that minimalism leads to more peace, more time on hand for people and things that matter, and students very rightly pointed out that less is more.The students were also able to connect the same with SDG Goal 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.
The assembly on minimalism served as an eye-opening experience, encouraging us to reflect on our lifestyles and make conscious choices. By embracing minimalism, we can simplify our lives, reduce stress, and contribute positively to our environment. It’s not about having less, but about having what truly matters. The response received was highly overwhelming as the students and teachers loved the way the assembly was conducted and the topic of the same.
